We still have a few items left on our to-do-over-the-winter list. (Okay, we always have a few things left on that list.)  Many times those items require a little bit of time in the shop. Amazingly, a couple of spare hours appeared in our schedule the other day, so we decided to tackle the next thing on the list: bed rails for my husbands pickup. He backed his pick-up into the shop and did a little general maintenance before tackling the bed rails.

(You may notice that there is a little dirt on his pick-up. Don’t worry, we have noticed that also. “Wash the Pick-ups” happens to be on our to-do-over-the-winter list. I’m sure we’ll get it to it soon.)

He quickly fired up the welder and got started.

It didn’t take him long to finish the whole project. Do you know why? Because the kids weren’t underfoot. They were convinced there was buried treasure to be found outside the shop door.

Look how focused and cooperative they are. I have to admire their digging skills. Hmmm... perhaps the pirates will bury their next treasure in the southwest corner of my yard. I need some help digging my new vegetable garden plot.

I like the  "shovels" I think we may have had that same type.   But those fingers are looking cold.  I am glad the winter to do list is getting shorter.
